Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. In the following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some potential references to Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang together with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. She released Pho, her debut album on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. Then on the 9th of November 2018 she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
